The Division of Economic and Risk Analysis (DERA) of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and New York University's Salomon Center are organizing a half-day dialogue on exchnage-traded investment products (ETPs).
Over the past two decades, the number of U.S. listed ETPs has increased to nearly 2,000, with assets under management in excess of $2.7 trillion. They currently represent more than 30% of trading volume on securities exchanges.
This Dialogue will explore: i) how ETPs affect the efficiency and quality of financial markets; ii) the potential implications for investors who hold ETPs; and iii) where the ETP market is headed.
