ETFGI reports Smart Beta ETFs listed globally gathered net inflows of 7.88 billion US dollars during June 2022
LONDON —July 26, 2022 — ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm covering trends in the global ETFs/ETPs ecosystem, reported today that equity-based Smart Beta ETFs listed globally gathered net inflows of US$7.88 Bn during June, bringing H1 net inflows to US$84.57 Bn, which is lower than the US$89.56 Bn gathered in H1 2021. During 2022, Smart Beta Equity ETFs assets have decreased by 8.4% from US$1.24 trillion in May 2022, to US$1.13 trillion, with a 5-year CAGR of 24.1%, according to ETFGI’s June 2022 ETF and ETP Smart Beta industry landscape insights report, the monthly report which is part of an annual paid-for research subscription service. Comparison of assets in market cap, smart beta, other and active equity products
At the end of June 2022, there were 1,251 smart beta equity ETFs, with 2,556 listings, assets of $1.13 Tn, from 193 providers on 47 exchanges in 37 countries.
Yield ETFs attracted the largest net inflows of $4.90 Bn during June while volatility ETFs suffered the greatest net outflows during the month and amounted to $477 Mn.
Substantial inflows can be attributed to the top 20 Smart Beta ETFs/ETPs by net new assets, which collectively gathered $9.39 Bn during June. Vanguard Value ETF (VTV US) gathered $1.24 Bn the largest individual net inflow.
